The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has placed two American companies on the sanctions list for arms sales to Taiwan.
The companies included in the list were Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies working with the US Department of Defence.
In line with the sanctions decision, both companies and their subsidiaries Raytheon Missile and Defence Corporation will not be able to carry out any export or import activities for the Chinese market.
In February last year, the Chinese administration announced that it had decided to impose sanctions on two US companies on the grounds that they sold $ 100 million worth of weapons to Taiwan.
With the announcement of the sanctions, the Chinese Foreign Ministry also issued a statement. In the statement, it was stated that the sale of arms to Taiwan jeopardised China’s security interests and that this situation harmed China-US relations and the stability of the Taiwan Strait.
