The Russian foreign ministry has announced that it is imposing travel bans on a list of Australian officials and defence industry contractors in response to Australia’s introducing a “Magnitsky Style” sanctions Act 21st of July.
The Russian government added 39 names from law enforcement, border force and contactors for the defence industry to a “blacklist” and banned them from entering Russia.
The blacklisted include names from law enforcement and government entities as well as private sector executives.
Canberra had adopted the Autonomous Sanctions Amendment Act on December 2021.
