U.S. Sanctions Palestinian Authority

The U.S. has decided to impose sanctions on Palestinian Authority officials and PLO members.

The U.S. has decided to impose sanctions on Palestinian Authority officials and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

The reason given for the decision was the accusation that the individuals in question were “undermining the peace process with Israel.”

The U.S. Department of State announced that the sanctioned individuals would not be able to obtain a U.S. visa.

The U.S. administration had commented yesterday, following Canada’s announcement that it would recognize Palestine, that “Trump believes recognizing Palestine would be a reward for Hamas and will not take such a step.”
