EU sanctions on Iranian airlines

The European Union has imposed sanctions on a number of individuals and entities in Iran, including airline companies.

The EU announced new sanctions against individuals and organisations responsible for the transfer of unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran to Russia and the supply of missiles or UAVs to armed groups and formations in the Middle East and Red Sea region.

Accordingly, 3 airline companies of Iran, namely Saha Airlines, Mahan Air and Iran Air, and two supply companies were included in the sanctions list.

In addition, sanctions were imposed on Iranian Deputy Defence Minister Hamza Kalenderi, leading figures of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards Army, Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards Army, the Space Unit of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces, the general managers of the Iranian Aircraft Manufacturing Industry Company (HESA) and the Aerospace Industries Organisation (AIO).
